I am a Masters in Counselling Psychology graduate from Trinity Western University and a current school counsellor at Vancouver Christian School. I have a passion for sharing in experiences with others and walking alongside individuals, helping them and watching as they grow. My love for youth and young adults has inspired me to not only work within a school, but to have a private practice for these demographics. The inevitable challenges and transitions of these times of growth are vital for health and success. Therefore, it is my passion to work with individuals venturing through these years.
As a counsellor, I have an emotionally-focused lens and I utilize the arts and the passions of each individual client to create a unique therapeutic experience. I bring emotions to the forefront for everything I do in session, including emotional expression through art, music, and play, and also in teaching parents skills to better understand those strong (and often confusing) emotions of their children. I have experience working with clients presenting with generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, dysthymia, trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviours, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ASD, OCD, and ODD. I also work with creatives and artists, including musicians and art students.
