About Christine

Christine is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She has a Masters of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle, and postgraduate training in Clinical Traumatology from the Trauma Institute. In addition, Christine is a trained group facilitator in The Incredible Years Parenting Program which focuses on practical strategies parents can use to manage highly oppositional children as well as strategies to manage children with special needs.

Christine believes in working collaboratively with couples and individuals to identify, process and work through challenges. She takes an integrative approach to therapy to address stress, anxiety, grief, depression, relationship issues and trauma. Christine uses a client-centered approach which draws on clients strengths and past successions to problem solve for future resolution. She creates space for self-identified issues and time for healthy processing. Christine also specializes in trauma counselling for those who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic experience. Using the TriPhasic Model of Trauma Therapy, Christine helps guide clients to a place of stability and reconnection. Christine also has experience working with couples through a plethora of issues. Mainly, Christine works with couples struggling through trust issues, such as infidelity, communication difficulties, and reconnection. Christine has had the most success with clients using a present-situated, strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy that aims to promote and attain client’s goals.

Outside of Parallel Wellness, Christine works at a Family Services agency in North Vancouver as a Family Counsellor. She is also a Group Facilitator for the Incredible Years Parenting Program for adults of children with highly oppositional behavior and special needs. This also involves working with parents through difficulties within their family and relationship. In addition, Christine enjoys a balanced life of work, family, fitness, and daily mindfulness.
