Hi, my name is Arianna Clarke-Watts and I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) based out of the Comox Valley, BC. I feel very passionate about the work that I do, and believe strongly in the healing power my clients possess within themselves. As far back as I can remember, I've been curious about and drawn to people. In 2012 I completed my yoga teacher training certificate and began a healing path that opened many doors on a personal and professional level. I hold a BA in psychology and an MA in counselling psychology and have continued my education through trainings in holistic methods of healing. I work from a body/mind/spirit perspective and will help you become familiar with these aspects of yourself so you have the opportunity to lead a balanced and full life.
Largely, my work is client-centered. This means our sessions are tailored around your specific needs on that given day as I draw from the theoretical tools I have learned. With years of experience understanding and treating trauma, I know it is important to understand our experiences holistically and not just from the mind. This will be reflected in our sessions as I may invite you to become aware of physical sensations and/or breath to invite some curiosity, openness and awareness to other aspects of your being.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy contributes greatly to the approach I take with my clients. IFS is a trauma-informed and holistic approach that involves mind, body, and spirit and allows me to meet any presenting issues you may be experiencing with openness. IFS is a non-pathologizing approach and invites you to develop more understanding and compassion to your internal world. It understands multiplicity of the mind – meaning, we are not just “one” person who thinks and feels the same way all of the time. Through this approach I can help you enhance your relationship with yourself, as well as your friends, family, and the community that surrounds you. Please don’t hesitate to ask me more about IFS.
