About Courtney

I believe that working towards wellness and self-understanding is a lifelong endeavour. My aim is to provide you with a safe and non-judgemental space for you to discover what wellness means for you. Together, we can explore the different facets of your world and make meaning of your life experiences. Through a holistic and collaborative approach, I will help you develop skills to manage individual challenges, deepen personal insight, and strengthen inner compassion on your journey of healing and self-exploration. I will honour your brave decision to enter counselling and walk beside you with authenticity, respect, and empathy.

My education includes an Applied Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Psychology from St. Lawrence College, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.

I am an Emotion-Focused Therapist who utilizes an experiential and holistic approach to understand and provide insight on your emotional experiences and struggles. I prioritize the needs of my clients and will sometimes incorporate tools from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy to meet clients wherever they are at. When working with families, I use a Family Systems approach to facilitate communication and understanding between family members. Additionally, I am trained as a Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapist and practice Dr. Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

I offer counselling to children, youth, adults, couples and family systems. I have experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, grief and loss, parenting, childhood abuse and trauma, life adjustment challenges, and relational conflicts.

Sessions cost a flat fee of $120.00 per 50 minutes. This applies to couples as well as individuals. After session payment, I will provide a detailed bill with my registration number that can be submitted to insurance companies. If a client is struggling financially, I offer a sliding scale on a case by case basis.
