“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller.
This is a philosophy that hold dear. Raising children can be the most challenging job at the best of times. The challenge can become overwhelming when our children are further challenged with behavioural, emotional or developmental issues. These added stressors often leave parents and children feeling isolated and alone.
My genuine, caring and compassionate approach, along with my lighthearted sense of humour, is instrumental in establishing an empowering and safe relationship with my clients. It is the partnership with the family that allows me to help parents to become empowered, supportive and understanding while providing the child with scientificly proven strategies to be successful, both at school and at home and in relationships with family and peers.
I help support children and families who are experiencing challenges related to home and/or school. Using a child-centered approach, I work with families to build balance and connection through a focus on strengths, problem-solving and coping skills. My areas of practice include social and emotional difficulties, behavioural issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, school avoidance and anxiety, parenting skills as well as peer and family relationships.
