The decision to seek therapy is an important and often life-changing milestone; I’m very glad you’re here.
As a therapist, I am honoured to hear your unique story and to collaborate with you through genuine connection and authentic conversation. I strive to provide a safe space for you by cultivating respect, empathy and compassion. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, accepted and understood on your wellness journey.
I founded Rosewood Counselling & Psychotherapy out of a desire to serve my community. It is this sentiment of social interest, along with equality and unity that have informed my overall approach to therapy. I am trauma-informed, culturally-competent, inclusive and anti-oppressive and draw from therapeutic modalities that are humanistic, systemic and cognitive-behavioural.
I am influenced by Person-Centered, Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment therapies that put you in the driver’s seat, allow you to explore the many parts of yourself, and inspire you to become more mindful as you discover and commit to your core values.
My clinical and research experience includes working with adolescent and adult issues such as coming-of-age, life-transitions, grief, anxiety, depression and other mood challenges, substance use/misuse and sex-based issues. Most recently, I provided community-based trauma care to people affected by domestic abuse.
It is my privilege to welcome you as you are, and meet you exactly where you’re at. I look forward to working together toward your personal empowerment.
