About Inder

My passion for therapy and mental wellness emerges from own past experiences, that were greatly helped by personal counselling and self-care. As a counsellor and educator, my therapeutic approach revolves around providing a nurturing environment to promote resilience and a growth mindset. I offer approaches such as CBT, ACT, Bowen Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, SFBT, Gestalt Therapy, Client Centered, and Mindfulness based therapies. My personal and professional experience has proven that a connection with the right therapist can offer hope and opportunities for personal growth. I would be honoured to help you in your journey to a more balanced and fulfilling life. I offer counselling in the following areas:

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, and then continued to earn my Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. I started teaching middle and secondary school upon the completion of my studies. My passion for counselling grew during this time, as I often found myself witnessing students in crisis, rooted in home life or mental illness. However, during the limited one-on-one time I had with my students, I was not able to spend the time to get to know the depth of their lives or issues, and also found myself struggling with a lack of tools to do so. It was then that I decided that I would pursue graduate degree in counselling so that I could better help this population, and others. I achieved my Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle.

During my graduate studies, I completed a two year clinical practicum at Child and Youth Mental Health, at the Ministry of Children and Family Development. During this time I had the opportunity to counsel youth ages 10-19, take part in family counselling, use the reflective teams method for group counselling, and run wellness and CBT groups. I found this work truly meaningful and knew this was definitely my calling in life. During this time I was also working as a secondary school counsellor, and do so presently. My passion for counselling, psychology and education continuously drives me to keep learning and stay current in this line of work.
