About Claire

One of the main reasons we become stuck in life, particularly in the area of relationships, is because we hold on to what has happened to us in the past, be that consciously or unconsciously. It’s not that we necessarily want to hold on, moreover it’s that we simply don’t know how to let go. Counselling will help you to understand where your patterns behaviour come from, and how to move away from them in a healthy manner.

Whatever we experience in our formative years becomes the lens through which we see life—it formulates our worldview. Once that worldview is firmly in place, it becomes the mantra by which we live, whether that mantra is healthy or destructive. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t change our mantra. Awareness, support, community, and a willingness to think and behave in a way that fits in with who you are at the core right now are the keys to lasting change.

People begin to heal the moment they feel seen and heard. My role as your counsellor is to support you in a way that other people in your life may be unable to support you. There are many paths to healing, change and growth, but one essential element is to be heard and understood by at least one other person in your life in an empathic and non-judgmental way.

Together we will discover when and where you became stuck on your journey and what needs to happen to get you back on track. I offer a safe, non-judgemental, open, and warm environment where you can take the time and space you need to work through whatever difficulty you may be facing.

My work is client centered, which means I believe you have the answers and capability within you to heal, change and grow. I will collaborate with you and guide you, but you are the expert on your life.
