As LGBTQIA2S+ folks, we are often navigating oppressive and harmful environments. We are often taught (implicitly or explicitly) that parts of us are not okay. I believe that through counselling, we can bravely choose to engage differently with ourselves and with each other. We can reclaim our right to feel compassion for all of our parts, even the parts that we’ve been told to squish, get rid of, silence, or hate. When we do this, we create magic-- and we invite new possibilities for connection.
I’m a Registered Social Worker, and I provide counselling from trauma-informed, collaborative, and anti-oppressive approaches.I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault, childhood abuse, death, loss, and experiences of ongoing oppression, specifically (though not exclusively) with folks in LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
My approach to counselling is conversation based, integrating writing, drawing, along with movement and connecting with the body.
Let's (re)discover your strengths, tap into your resiliency, and create a brave and compassionate space for change and transformation, together.
