I have worked as both a social worker and Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver since 1983 first beginning with non-profit agencies and then establishing my own private practice in the late 1990's. I pride myself in having a widely varied cliente with respect to gender identity, employment, ethnicity and race, socio-ecomonic status and educational background. I believe myself to be inclusive and non-judgemental.
After I completed my degree in social work and practiced for a time as a social worker, my interests shifted into working more deeply with individuals, couples, families and groups and providing them not only with counselling but the deeper work of long-term (where appropriate) therapy.
I have had the opportunity to work not only with individuals but with corporate and government entities in areas varying from mediation, job advancement to harassment and personal fulfillment. I am very proud of the work I have done working with refugee applicants, many of whom were tortured and abused in their countries of origin.
I believe in developing a professional, yet deeply personal relationship with my clients in which personal disclosure is safe and opens the door to examine alternate ways of approaching the world and our place within it.
At this time, my practice is limited to Mondays and Fridays.
