I enjoy working alongside a broad range of folks and see people as experts in their own lives. We all have coping strategies we go to in order to get through tough times; it takes work to shift them and develop new strategies. I invite you to join me in creating a safe, authentic space and use a collaborative approach to support you on your journey towards the changes you wish to make. My practice is informed by an anti-oppressive lens and strength-based approach.
For the last ten years, I have been working as a counsellor with children, youth, adults, and the important people in their lives. I especially enjoy collaborating alongside people who have experiences with labels such as OCD or BPD, queer and trans identified folks, people wanting to shift coping strategies (substance use, self-harm), and neurodivergent folks (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder).
After completing my Master’s degree in Behavioural Health Sciences – Psychological Health, I pursued further training in Art Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Brief Collaborative Therapy. For five years I have been facilitating DBT groups and individual counselling. In my work with clients I draw on these approaches to support people in developing skills and strategies that are practical, creative, and work for them.
If you feel I might be a fit to collaborate with you along this path, please contact me for a free initial in-person or phone consultation.
