Hi, I’m Kari Gundersen.
I’m a psychotherapist, a yoga instructor, a contemporary dancer, a beach jogger, and a rescue cat parent. I’ve had the same 12-speed bike since 1984. I’m a creative, visual thinker and sometimes I communicate in pictures.
I believe that everyone needs a safe space where we can put down our armor and be our true selves. To say how we’re really feeling. Without that opportunity, our batteries wear down pretty fast.
Do you ever feel like the world judges us for the behaviors our wounds inspire, without considering the wounds themselves? Therapy exposes our wounds to the light so we can heal them and move on with a clean slate.
My appraoch to therapy is a holistic blend of Transpersonal Psychology, Bowen Family Systems, Compassionate Inquiry, Inner Child Work, and Post Traumatic Growth.
A session with me includes talk therapy and maybe a little breathwork or guided meditation. Sometimes I’ll encourage you to try an art therapy exercise, either during our session or on your own as homework.
Yes, I am currently accepting new clients and I would love to hear from you.
